Dentures in a Day with Rupert Monkhouse

Aim:
To provide delegates with a comprehensive update on dentures in 2024 and beyond.

Objectives
By the end of the day, delegates should be able to:
• Describe the anatomy of edentulous patients
• Detail the various stages of complete denture production
• Explain the different materials required to take optimal impressions
• Be shown the ways in which digital technology can be used in complete denture
provision.

Rupert Monkhouse
Rupert is a general dentist based in Pangbourne, Berkshire. During his undergraduate studies, he realised his passion for removable prosthetics and has pursued this throughout his postgraduate education starting the MClinDent in Prosthodontics at Guy’s Hospital in 2023.

Rupert is keen on using social media to help educate other dentists on removable prosthetics, which now reaches a global audience. From this, he’s launched ‘Impression Club’ courses teaching one-day sessions on both primary impressions and digital dentures.

Rupert is also a regular external speaker for the BACD, ITI, BDA and Bespoke Smile Academy. He also holds committee positions within both the ITI and BACD. Since 2023, Rupert has been a beta tester for 3shape regarding the development of software for the Trios scanner.
